The abstract dream of becoming a teacher is now a concrete reality. :)
Last Thursday, I received a text message from Ms. Nina, an HRD officer of School of Saint Anthony.
I was happy when I got this text. It would mean that I've passed the demonstration teaching, and logical, psychological and professionalism tests that were given to me, and thus, I would undergo the final step which is the final interview with the administrators. I was psyched, excited and thrilled! I don't know what to expect, but what I was sure of is that I'm almost there. :)
So this morning, I went to SSA for the final interview. I wasn't able to wake up on time because I watched BB. Pilipinas on TV last night. TBH, I wasn't really happy with the results of the pageant. I expected more from the candidates, and I do agree with the male judge who commented during the Q&A. He said that the candidates were making it difficult for the judges, not because they were all good, but because it was clearly visible that all of them are weak when it comes to answering questions. The questions were very well-constructed. I best believe that it deserves an equally well-thought answer. Anyway, enough of the rants regarding the event. I wish them luck, though.
Going back, after eating my breakfast, Papa dropped me off at SSA. T. Juvy and T. Joy, the principals from the Upper School and Middle School Department, and Ms. Tricia, daughter of Dr. Coralejo, were the panelists for my interview. They asked relevant questions that were really challenging. Good thing I was able to answer everything, straight to the point and without beating around the bush. God never fails to coach us especially when we are in need of words. :) Hihi. So after the interview, I went back to the HRD office to discuss the salary, the benefits, the requirements needed and the trainings and retreats to be attended before school officially starts on June. Afterwards, I signed the contract, and they handed me the Administrators and Faculty Manual, the counterpart of my students' manual. :)
Contract of Employment for PROBATIONARY Employees. I never liked the term PROBATIONARY. :| HAHA. |
